I have noticed some stuff, and people have been asking me questions, so hopefully it helps a bit. Also, if you do not note me your entry, it will not be counted! For serious! Doesn't matter if you show it to me on MSN or AIM or whatever!

OKAYYYYYYYYYY, everyone has been having such cool contests lately that I wanted to have one too!

If you have been paying attention, you’ll know about ‘142’ and Norsat, and cool stuff like that. If you haven’t: dudes, why are you watching me? That is pretty much all I ever do. But the idea of the contest is that you create a character that would be an employee of the Norsat company. For example, Zero, Phoebe, and The Author are all employees (The Negotiator, The Scientist, and [prepare yourself for this] The Author, respectively). There are gonna be three winners (maybe more, if I like a lot/more than one person enters haha) and the idea is that they would be mentioned at some point in a story, or drawn in a comic, or something actually related like that. In other words, they’d be an official part of the 142 cast. OO-WEE! Also, I will draw you pretty, pretty pictures?

Basically, I’m having this contest because the only employee I’ve ever created other that Author/Phoebe/Sanford is Annoying Nameless Receptionist Chick. And that’s terrible.

HERE ARE THE DEETS:

The Building
Norsat is a 142 story (you see how that ties in? I am a creative title-maker, I tell you what) building that employs thousands of people. Most, if not all of Norsat’s employees have been there since they were small children. Children are enrolled into the school, and given a title (ie; journalist, janitor, candlestick maker, I dunno, anything), and are then trained to do the job. Students do not get to choose their future jobs, and there isn’t really a test or anything, because you’re like… 6. It’s sort of hit and miss whether you’re actually suited for the job or not. Many employees have plain titles like Assistant, Receptionist, Candlestick Maker, but a chosen few who excel at their jobs become the heads of their respective departments (The Scientist, The Negotiator, you get the deal). Employees are not allowed to move away from the building once they are enrolled, and are not allowed to divulge any company secrets.

The People

The different kinds of SUPER COOL AWESOME ROCKIN’ people you can make!
Humans:
They are humans. They are pretty straightforward! That doesn’t make them boring though! You are a human, don’t forget that. 8|
Eoili:

They are generally good at mechanics, technology, little fiddly things. Very inquisitive and eager to learn.
Zetamin

I feel compelled to add that you cannot have someone who is, say, a pony, and then have them with a brother who is a cheetah. Does that make sense? No. Neither does animal-people, but just play along, ok?
Mixes
People mix! They don’t just stay with their group. Here is a handy green picture to help explain a little. (That picture mentions Creations: don’t bother trying to figure that out. Norsat doesn’t hire them anyway; they make them, haha.)

EDIT FOR ADDED INFO
-your character wants nothing to do with aircraft because it is illegal, against religion, and enjoying it would probably make everyone think they are a pirate. contrary to popular belief, that's not cool. on that note, they're not gonna be making any
-guns are highly illegal. you do not have one
-your character cannot be an angel (while they exist, there is a set of rules and they're not like earth angels and it's just too complicated so don't worry about it) and they cannot be a demon because they just plain don't have them
-everyone believes in the gods (5 of them), and there are countless demigods that are like 'hey dude, what is up, I run the corner store and perform miracles!'

BUT
-your character can be a mix of all the different races! so you could have a 1/4 human, 1/4 Eoili, 1/2 Zebra, and 1/2 Lion person, whatevs.
-there can be more than one person with a specific title (say, Author, for example), but only one will have the 'The' (and they NEED a title, since that's THE WHOLE POINT OF THE CONTEST)
-characters can be any age, from little and in school, to super old (highest is about 55-ish, that's just the life expectancy) and badass
-you don't need a full out reference sheet, but I do prefer characters with more to them than 'name, age, occupation, they're perky'

The Sweet(?) Rewards of Victory
The judging is pretty simple; I’d just choose the characters I think would fit into the story/environment the best! This doesn’t mean your character has to be a perfect boring by-the-book employee, but it also doesn’t mean they should be super sparkly rainbow omg perky kawaii! They should just be… real people! Yaaaay! Feel free to have them know some of the 142 characters somehow (not Weston though, he doesn’t work there and will be sitting by himself in the Neglected Corner for this contest), but they don’t have to!

First Prize: 1 fullbody picture, 2 chibi things
Second Prize: 2 chibi things
Third Prize: 1 chibi thing

Plus, all three winners (and maybe more) would be mentioned at some point in a story, or drawn in a comic, or something actually related like that. In other words, they’d be an official part of the 142 cast. OO-WEE!

I think this will end… on the 30th of April. …because I said so.
